I have been a professional artist in Cambridge for over 25 years and alongside this has always been a passion for holistic health, nutrition and fitness. During this time I have studied many different modalities including Thai massage, Shiatsu massage, Macrobiotic Healing, Bi-Aura Energy Healing, Reiki and Nutrition.
Using a lot of heavy ceramic materials in my work as an artist had given me chronic back pain so after reading an article about Bowen Therapy I decided to give it a try. The first session didn’t feel that remarkable, the second session, however, I felt something was different and the pain had ‘changed’ and then, after the third and final session, the pain that I’d had for over two years completely vanished. What interested me was that I could feel a shift and a release in my body - I wanted to know more.
I revisited my passion and re-engaged my knowledge around health and the body. I began training as a Bowen Therapist, qualifying in 2018 with the College of Bowen Studies.
Lifestyle is such an important part of keeping healthy and becomes more so as we age. As a member of Revolution Health and Fitness gym, I practice Pilates and use the weights regularly. I am also a member of Over Power Cambridge which is a great fun way for women to enjoy fitness. Diet is another interest and I am currently studying for a Nutritional Therapist Professional Diploma Level 5.
I am also currently studying for a Diploma in Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapy and I plan to start practicing this later in the year. This is a lifelong passion that connects art to healing.
I have learned so much about how the body holds both physical and emotional stress which can lead to pain and love the holistic, ‘less is more’ approach that is the Bowen Technique.
